PM condoles deaths in Bhakkar road accident

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday condoled the death of six female students in a road accident in Bhakkar.

“Terrible loss of young lives in the accident in Bhakkar which killed 6 girls returning from school & their rickshaw driver. My prayers & condolences go to the families of the victims,” he tweeted.

Earlier, on March 30, at least seven people, including six female students, died while two others suffered injuries when a speeding bus rammed into a rickshaw near Sarai Muhajir, Bhakkar.

According to police, the girls were on their way home after appearing in the examinations when the bus crashed into the rickshaw near a petrol pump in Sarai Muhajir. The deceased were identified as Iqra Rafiq, Sawera Shafiq, Ifat Ahmed, Mariyam Ashraf, Mehreen Yaqoob, Sobia Arshad, and rickshaw driver Imran.

Two students identified as Sana Perveen and Sania Batool suffered wounds and were rushed to the DHQ Bhakkar from where Perveen was referred to the Nishter Hospital due to her critical condition.
